Gabriel is a Metis, born raised and educated in Saint Boniface. His background is in management, finance and insurance. Since starting his consulting practice in 1992, he
has focused on program management, event coordination, research, needs analyses, feasibility studies, entrepreneurial training, aboriginal and multicultural awareness, facilitation, business plan preparation and translation. Gabriel is a past president of Folklorama, former Executive Director of the Manitoba Intercultural Council and the Aboriginal Business Development Centre. He was recently re-elected to the Jubilee
Fund board and served on the Citizens' Equity Committee of the city of Winnipeg. He is President of Owiisookaage - an aboriginal youth group actively involved in outreach programs and volunteering.
